Please Note: There is a new new central access method for e-learning. You will need to create a My.Scouting account (using your e-mail address as your login). This account gives you direct access to e-learning (and other options depending on your profile). Scouting volunteers: please have your council number and member ID handy (from your registration card) when creating your account.

All units (packs, troops, teams, crews, posts) are required to renew their affiliation with Scouting each year. Through the process, chartering (sponsoring) organizations, youth member and adult leader information is updated as well as registration fees and Boys' Life subscriptions are collected/paid.
A representative of each unit can now complete the paperwork for renewing a charter online. With Online Rechartering, you can indicate returning members, add new members, and update information for an individual or the chartered organization.
Each unit must select an adult to be its renewal processor and a single login/password is provided.

Units can use Internet Advancement to record their youth member advancements online. You will find this new method to be easy, convenient, and accurate because you enter the information, and it will save you the effort of hand writing advancements onto a three-part carbon form. Use Internet Advancement for adding ranks, merit badges and awards. and to update information on existing advancements (except the Eagle Scout rank).

Service Hours Reporting
A service project is a special Good Turn that puts Scout spirit into action. Some Good Turns are big—saving a life, helping out after floods or other disasters, recycling community trash, working on conservation projects. But Good Turns are often small, thoughtful acts—helping a child cross a busy street, going to the store for an elderly neighbor, cutting back brush that is blocking a sign, doing something special for a brother or sister, or welcoming a new student to your school. Anyone can get involved in a Good Turn. If you would like to participate in a service project to benefit your community, contact your local Scouting office.

Unit Management Software
Several software packages have been developed to help leaders manage the many details running a Scouting pack, troop, team, crew, or post. Three have been certified by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America to interact with the National BSA database called "ScoutNet."
These packages can export data to the BSA online rechartering and advancement systems as well as receive a one-time data upload of leader/member address, phone, birth date and position information from the ScoutNet system to get started. The ScoutNet system does not export advancement and training information, so this would need to be entered from reports, either printed or PDFs.
Below are links to the "ScoutNet Certified" third-party vendor’s websites as well as operating systems supported and basic pricing. These are all subject to change, so please refer directly to the vendor websites for the most current information.
- ScoutSoft – Mac, Windows & Linux
- Troopmaster – Windows (or Windows Emulator on a Mac)
