Camp Kickapoo2012 Cardboard Boat Regatta

Camp Kickapoo, Lincoln Trails Council's second camp, is located after the last bridge going west on Moccasin road along Lake Sara. It sits on 25+ acres of wooded timber with 4 campsites. There is a pavilion 24 x 24 with a concrete floor and a water hydrant for drinking water. There are 2 docks for fishing – no swimming allowed. Camp Kickapoo sits on Lake Sara, with boat traffic and fisherman on the lake. There is a latrine and a trail around the entire property. Wood is plentiful to burn in the fire pits at the campsites. Nearby is a driving range and 2 golf courses. Water skiing is on the lake with fishing and several sites to see in and around Effingham. In Altamont not far from the camp is Ballard Nature Center for those needing to identify animals and plants, this is a must see. All of the local schools have programs at Ballard Nature Center.

Contact the Council Service Center (217-429-2326) if you are interested in more information.
